A New Trend in Getting Traffic to Your Website
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s a common belief among marketers that Web 2.0 as a marketing platform is about to go the way of the dinosaur. This probably isn’t entirely true, but we definitely have to rethink how we use it for getting traffic to your website.
It can hardly be argued that humans are by nature impatient. We like things to be bigger, better, stronger and faster. This is clearly apparent since the advent of the Information Age. Naturally, we have to be on top of the newest and fastest ways of delivering information and able to harness it into getting traffic to your website.
The latest developments in Web 2.0 are the microblogs and live-streaming. Microblogs, essentially, are websites where you can post a one or two-line blog either from your computer or your cell phone. With the same technology, other users can comment on your posts. This is a natural development from text messaging, only now it’s in a mass communication format.

Affiliate Marketing Isnt Just About Links
Posted by: | CommentsAn all too common mistake newbies make when the first get into affiliate marketing is that they think that all they have to do is slap their links up on a website and hope that traffic will come their way. Guess what? It won’t happen.
The first mistake is that they think that their website doesn’t have to be interesting beyond their links. After all, they’re in affiliate marketing, not search engine optimization, right? What they’re essentially telling the search engines is that they don’t want to be seen.
Then they wonder why they’re not getting any traffic on their links. With a plain-Jane website, what else could they expect? They’re lucky if they get pocket change for their effort. More accurately, for their lack of effort!
What’s really horrible is when these newbies in affiliate marketing will have a page of nothing but links, and a lot of them at that. Honestly, there’s really no hope in attracting any traffic this way.

Listbuilding Online: Learn From the Telemarketers
Posted by: | CommentsRemember the days when everyone was subjected to calls from telemarketers? How, until the “Do Not Call” list was instituted, we were all annoyed by phone calls from someone trying to sell something? Much the same could be said about online listbuilding and marketing.
Before the “Do Not Call” list, telemarketers had free rein to generate cold call lists. All they had to do was hit the phone books and build a list. That, or they could buy a list from others who had done that research. From there, they could call leads and distinguish their hot lists, or people who responded positively, from the cold lists, or those who responded negatively.
They didn’t stop making the cold calls; they just kept them at a certain level of promotion. The hot lists, however, were graduated to more profitable solicitations. Ultimately, this resulted in a level of annoyance that led to the “Do Not Call” list. They had to resort to and emphasize other methods of listbuilding.
Some businesses instituted voluntary lists. These were usually filled Read More→
Avoiding the Pitfalls of Affiliate Marketing
Posted by: | CommentsAffiliate Marketing, as we all know, can be a lucrative addition to your online business. Otherwise, not many people would be doing it. It is, however, not without its potential downfalls. Let’s look at some of these.
To begin with, let’s get a clear idea of what Affilate Marketing is. Essentially, it’s the promotion of someone else’s product. There are several ways to make money off of this. First, you can get a percentage of sales commission from your Affiliate. This is dependent on actually making a sale from your affiliate link, and it can be negated if the customer refunds within the given time period. Compared to pay per click commissions, though, the pay off per sale is huge.
Secondly, you can get a pay per click or pay per impression commission. That is, you make a few cents every time a person clicks your link. This has the advantage of not being dependent on sales, and you don’t have to give it back if a lead gets a refund. However, in terms of looking at hundreds of clicks at a few cents a piece, it can make it hard to track your commissions.
With that in mind, it seems like a “can’t lose” situation; Read More→
