Easy List Building for Beginners
By Shawn CaseyList building may be one aspect of marketing that scares you the most if you are new to online marketing. You probably realize that list building is essential if you are going to reach your ultimate success goals but don’t quite know how to go about getting started. Here are a few tips.
Give away something your visitor will find valuable
To build your list quickly, it is essential that you offer a free give-away. This may be an e-book, special report, video, or short e-mail course. Whatever it is, make sure that it offers real value to the subscriber so that they will know you are dedicated to helping them with their need/problem.
You can create your own giveaway, or you can find a free report or other product online that has free give-away rights – as long as it is tightly targeted to your chosen niche.
Send as many people to your opt-in page as possible
Do whatever it takes to put your opt-in page in front of those who are interested in your offer. Write articles and link to your squeeze page. Link to it from blog postings. Put an opt-in box on every page of your website so that people who do not land on your home page have an opportunity to opt in.
Also, place an opt-in box on social networking sites like Facebook. Anywhere you can possibly link to your squeeze page, do it.
Use a reputable e-mail marketing provider
What you do not want to do is use a free auto-responder service. Why? Whether or not your subscribers receive your messages will be questionable, as most free services aren’t highly reliable. They may also place ads in your messages, which you want to avoid.
Use a reputable e-mail marketing provider to ensure that your messages are getting delivered to your subscribers and that they are getting delivered on time.
Make sure the messages you send to subscribers are valuable, and throw in an occasional freebie. Of course, you always want to give your subscribers an opportunity to buy your product as well.
While list building is intimidating to most new marketers, it’s really not that hard once you get in to the swing of things.
