How to Create a Squeeze Page for Insane Listbuilding
ByWithout a doubt, the squeeze page is the bread and butter of listbuilding. It’s also well known that building a massive list is essential for your online business. It then follows that in order to grow your business, you have to build a large list. In order to do that, you need to have a squeeze page that makes conversions like a tent revival!
First of all, it starts with the search engine optimization of the page. After all, people have to find it first, right? You can hire a reputable search engine optimization firm to do this for you if you don’t want to worry about keyword placement, meta tags and all that hoopla.
As part of the SEO of your page, it should be clean and professional looking. Don’t bog it down with animated graphics or midi files. Make sure there’s plenty of white space on the page. The colorful stuff should all be on the borders, and the text should be easily read. Make sure that your product’s name is prominently displayed. If your name has authority, make sure it appears prominently as well.
People love free stuff. The easiest way to draw someone into an opt-in is to dangle the proverbial carrot in front of their nose. Offer a video file, an audio file, a pdf… whatever. Make sure the name of your free product is attractive, both in the sense of having a cool sounding name and in the sense of conveying “value.” Words like “top secret” or “what they don’t want you to know” are always a good draw. You will also want to have a nice e-cover for your free gift, once again conveying a sense of value in the product and an overall professionalism on your part.
By and large, appealing to a visitor’s logic isn’t an effective method of conversion. You need to use emotionally driven language in your headlines to get them to listen. It’s not to say that logic doesn’t play its part in this. You do, after all, have to convince them of the benefits of your product. However, logic tends to make people think more about what they’re doing rather than rush in impulsively, so power words and motivational language play more of a key role here.
Privacy policies will also help draw visitors into your opt in box. You can and should make it simple. A short statement that you will not share this information with a third party and that you don’t support or condone spamming practices should be enough to quell any suspicions they might have.
No-risk guarantees are another way to soothe any misgivings a visitor might have about opting in to your list. People like the idea that they have nothing to lose from joining a service. The wording on this has to be carefully considered. While you want to convey that they can back out at any time during a given time frame, you don’t want to disable your support staff from being able to try and retain your customers if they’re dissatisfied. All too often, a list can shrink because of this seemingly minor detail.
From here, listbuilding is a piece of cake!

If I’m doing affiliate marketing how do I build a list? If I redirect traffic to my affiliate link, it seems hard to grab an email address..
Thanks
