Tips to Help Your List Building Efforts
By Shawn CaseyList building isn’t hard, but many new marketers are intimated by it. In order to be truly successful online, it is essential that you include list building in your marketing efforts. Not only do you need to build a list, but you also need to keep those who do subscribe on your list; this means you should offer value to keep your list members from un-subscribing.
Don’t just build a list, build relationships
Of course the main reason you want to build a list is to increase your potential for sales. To do that, your subscribers must trust you and believe in those products you recommend.
It’s important to build a trusting relationship by giving your subscribers something of value occasionally. You also want to write your messages in a way that lets your true personality come through.
Share bits of your life in your list building efforts
You don’t want to ramble on about your life history, but you do want to share just a little bit of your life with your subscribers. Tell them that your son celebrated his 5th birthday over the weekend, but keep it brief. By getting a quick glance in to your life, your subscribers will think of you more in terms of a friend.
Give away freebies occasionally
It’s important that those on your list don’t think that all you are trying to do is sell them something. Every now and then, share something of value with them. This may be a link to a great video, a blog post that is powerful, or a free 3- or 4-page report that is targeted toward their interests.
Just remember that list building is essential and that you are sincerely trying to help those on your list with their pain/need/problem. Do these things and you will succeed. Building a list is not difficult, but keeping those who subscribe is something you should strive for if you want to achieve long-term success.
